- The seller hands the registration certificate to the buyer.
- The buyer completes the RLV application.
- The buyer submits the registration certificate, proof of purchase and other required documents.
- A roadworthiness certificate may be required; the buyer is responsible for ensuring the vehicle is roadworthy.
- The buyer must submit the registration application within 21 days of buying the vehicle.
Companies
Where a vehicle is registered to a company, additional incorporation/name-change or founding-statement documentation may be required.
Processing and fees
Applications are stated to be processed on the same day. Fees are prescribed by the province. A registering authority may request proof of the right to be registered as title holder, such as an invoice or sales agreement.
